The Inflation of Ideas

AuthorKostas Karakoglou

I was thinking the other day about how cheap ideas have become.

Ten years ago, having a good idea was half the battle.
If you had a unique concept for a software company or a fresh angle for a marketing campaign, you possessed something scarce.

Today, scarcity is dead.

Anyone with an internet connection can ask an LLM to generate 50 business ideas, draft a complete marketing strategy, and write the code for a minimum viable product. And they can do it before their morning coffee gets cold.

We are experiencing the hyper-inflation of ideas.

When the cost of creation drops to zero, the value of the creation also drops to zero.

This terrifies most founders.
They realize their “secret sauce” isn’t a secret anymore. They realize they can be replicated by a teenager with a Claude subscription.

The Shift in Value

If ideas are free, what is valuable?

1. Taste
When everyone can create something good enough, the only differentiator is taste. It is the ability to curate, to understand human psychology, and to build something that doesn’t just work, but feels right. AI lacks taste. Taste is inherently human.

2. Frictionless Execution
Having the strategy doesn’t matter if you can’t execute it without breaking a sweat. The winners of the next decade won’t be the ones with the best ideas. They will be the ones who build the most resilient, autonomous systems to execute those ideas at scale.

3. Distribution
If you build it, they will not come. Not anymore.
There is too much noise. You need a pipeline. Whether that is an engaged personal brand or a highly technical, automated outbound sales engine. If you don’t own your distribution, you don’t own a business.

Stop Brainstorming

You don’t need another brainstorming session.
You don’t need another generic content calendar.

You need to stop treating your ideas like precious artifacts.
Start treating them like cheap raw materials.

The magic is no longer in the thought.
The magic is in the machine you build to bring that thought into reality.
